Financial Times
The Financial Times (FT) published an article Professor Rosa Lastra co-wrote with Harald Benink entitled "National Watchdogs Need to be Watched on Bank Bids", which pays attention to the current episode with respect to ABN Amro and the role of the Dutch central bank, and present some proposals based on previous work by the European Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee and my recent book (OUP, 2006). Study on European Copyright Law
"Dr Guido Westkamp from the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute, in collaboration with the Institute for Information Law of the University of Amsterdam, has just published part of an extensive study on the implementation of Directive 2001/29/EC on Certain Aspects of Copyright and Related Rights in the Information Society. The Study was prepared for the European Commission, Directorate General Internal Market, Copyright Directorate. The Study consists of a preliminary evaluation of the Directive.s core concepts (available under this [Link]), which was prepared at Amsterdam, and a separate study containing 26 country reports together with an introductory report on national implementation, prepared at QMIPRI (and available under this [link]
QMUL entrusted with organisation of Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot
Queen Mary University of London School of Law through its School of International Arbitration is one of only four Universities invited to join an association which as of 1 July 2007 will be entrusted with the organisation of Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. This is the largest international moot on international commercial law gathering every year more than 170 universities from more than 50 countries. A team from CCLS won the moot in 2006. Queen Mary was represented in the inaugural meeting of the association by Professor Loukas Mistelis
